ESST Specialist I
During ESST, participants are informed of and tested on an array of topics, including:
- How soil properties and types affect the rate of soil erosion
- Erosion processes and characterization
- Government regulations affecting the erosion control industry
- Comparison of common erosion and sediment control methods
- Temporary erosion control blankets (ECBs)
-
- How material composition affects blanket performance
- How ECBs function in typical field applications
- Cost-benefit comparison to other methods of temporary erosion control
- Vmax3® Composite Reinforcement Series
-
- Differences between composite (C-TRMs) and standard turf reinforcement mats (TRMs)
- How C-TRMs and TRMs function in typical field applications
- Performance of Vmax3 products compared to hard armor erosion control methods
- Research and laboratory testing on Vmax3 products
- Industry cooperative programs to create progress in erosion and sediment control technology
- North American Green reference materials, included printed literature and Internet resources
- Proper installation tools and techniques
- General use of the ECMDS® (Erosion Control Materials Design Software) program
We say, “Thank you,” to all current participants in the Specialists Program and we congratulate those who have obtained certification as an Erosion Solutions Specialist.
North American Green offers a continuation of this training program for our distributor network, through our Advanced Erosion Solutions Specialist training. With this additional training, our distributors receive more technical information and expand their knowledge of engineering principles for controlling soil erosion as new products and technologies emerge.
We are a proud participant in AASHTO's National Transportation Product Evaluation Program for RECPs.
