Channel Testing
The effectiveness of North American Green’s rolled erosion control products (RECPs) has been evaluated in university laboratory research and field testing. Measurements included the unvegetated channel scour protection of the RECPs under a variety of environmental extremes and conditions.
Additionally, all North American Green turf reinforcement mattings have been tested for their immediate erosion control (unvegetated), long-term erosion control (vegetated), and the vegetation reinforcement they provide.
Independent research on North American Green RECPs has been conducted at a variety of university and independent laboratories. Those include Utah State University, Colorado State University, University of Hawaii, Drexel University, University of Guelph, and the Texas Transportation Institute. One conclusion can be drawn from the extensive research from each of these facilities: "North American Green RECPs significantly reduce soil erosion and reinforce vegetation for channel liner applications."
Based on a compilation of data from all the research, North American Green has developed erosion control performance factors for each of our RECPs. Those performance factors are included in our Erosion Control Materials Design Software.We are a proud participant in AASHTO's National Transportation Product Evaluation Program for RECPs.
